A post from Argentina. It is midnight here and Buenos Aires is just getting started, of course with 3 boys we're just getting ready for bed, but most of the rest of Las Canitas (the neighborhood we're in) is just now finishing dinner, their cafe con leches, and gearing up for some dancing.
It is winter here, but the weather has been hot and humid, though locals assure me it is usually very cold this time of year (though the palm trees lining the wide boulevards leave me unconvinced of there ever being cold weather.)
I will post more (with pictures perhaps) when I get back, but the city is as advertised 'very European' but the dog shit on the street is really a problem (and I do mean a big problem, it is unavoidable and everywhere and most locals just shrug when questioned about it.)
That being said, the food in Buenos Aires is perhaps the best in the world, no joke. We have not had a bad meal and have had several exceptional ones, and due to the peso-dollar valuation very reasonable. Dinner tonight for 9 at a pretty fancy place was mas o meno US$175.
We'll be home Sunday and I'll post more, but the vacation has been terrific. FYI, within the very residential building we've rented an apartment in I count no less than 9 WiFi networks, about half of them being open, no telling if this is a constant in the city but it certainly is in our neighborhood. Chao.
