The last couple of weeks I've been thinking about a new business that takes the concept of open systems versus closed ones and applies it to the media/journalist universe.
It goes something like this:
Open wins. Closed loses, every time.
- In technology, economics, and politics, clear skies over cloudy any day.
Our vision is a transparent media universe.
Our belief is that if mass media do not take steps to define what constitutes a journalist, the courts or legislatures will and with it may go independent journalism.
- We believe that a system for accrediting bloggers serves the legal interests of mass media, mainstream journalists, and 'blournalists.'
We think we can serve the best interests of information consumers and the business interests of:
- Mass and nano media
- Public relations professionals
- Content sponsors
- Independent and affiliated experts
This is an idea that is bigger than me that will require lots of inputs and ideas to work. As I take in more ideas on what this concept should and will looks like from the ground and air, I plan to share my thinking in this space and encourage anyone who is interested to send me their thoughts.
